The sitter is isabel Boyt (b.1960), one of the artists daughters by Suzy Boyt. He had
first painted her when she was a child in “Large Interior, Paddington”. Later she was the subject of a painting “Ib (1977/8 Cleveland Museum of Art). Further paintings followed including Ib and her husband (1992 - Private Collection) and Ib reading (1997), several drawings and two more prints. An even grey tone was used for the whole image, apart from the face, which is lighter. In addition to the usual hatching, cross hatching, directional and cross contour line.
