In this lighthearted yet thoughtfully composed piece, Werner draws inspiration from the Han River (Hangang), the iconic waterway that winds through the heart of Seoul.
Surrounded by promenades, parks, and pockets of calm, the river provided Werner with a natural visual and emotional reference point. The peaceful rhythm of life by the river—where people gather, relax, and pass time slowly—became the central mood of the work.
True to his playful sensibility, Werner also incorporated a subtle wordplay into the title, making a clever nod to the phrase “hanging out”. This light pun further reinforces the artwork’s laid-back tone, highlighting the balance he often strikes between sincerity and humor in his compositions.
